Steadfast Selangor 2 Despite League Postponement

The postponement of the 2021 Premier League during the Movement Control Order (PKP) 3.0 was announced by the Malaysian Football League (MFL) yesterday.

This action was taken after receiving recommendations from the government, in accordance with the current situation of the daily COVID-19 case in the country which is still at an alarming level.

According to the previous schedule, Selangor 2 will resume the Premier League 2021 competition with the match against Sarawak United FC on June 30, which was postponed earlier due to heavy rain and thunderstorms during the initial match day.

However, Michael Feichtenbeiner, Selangor FC’s Sports Director understands the action taken by the MFL which had to postpone the Premier League and will continue the training session as usual while waiting for the new schedule from the MFL.

"For me, the MFL's action to postpone the Premier League is very understandable because of the pandemic situation that is plaguing the country now. It is a difficult action they have to take so we should accept it and hope to be continued soon," said Michael.

"The plan now is that we will continue to do training sessions as usual according to the SOPs that have been set. This is because apart from training for the next match, it is also the development process of Selangor FC's young players to prepare them for the future," he added.

The MFL will announce the new schedule in the near future as soon as they make the statistics and reorganize the Premier League schedule.

Selangor FC hopes the young Red Giants team will continue to train with enthusiasm while waiting for the Premier League schedule to be released.

Further developments on the main team of Selangor FC will be updated and informed from time to time.
